Wells Fargo adds Wyndham as a transfer partner (very good)

This week the world of points and miles came with a lot of activity: the Chase Sapphire Reserve's monthly DoorDash credit lost its luster, Wells Fargo becomes the best friend of budget hotels (and a few luxury ones), and American Airlines invites us to pack our bags to Caracas.

The 5 points for this week:

  • Wells Fargo adds Wyndham as a transfer partner (very good).

  • Capital One Venture Business: "New" business card.

  • Monthly DoorDash credits are now harder to maximize.

  • American Airlines returns to Venezuela after 7 years.

  • Almost there for the migration from Barclays to Citi (American Airlines).

  • 🔥 BONUS: Last call for $250 with no annual fee.

1️⃣ Wells Fargo Adds Wyndham as a Transfer Partner (Very Good)

Wells Fargo made an unexpected move... Now, when transferring points to Wyndham Rewards, the transfer rate is 1:2. That is, 1,000 Wells Fargo points become 2,000 Wyndham points. This is excellent.

Considering that many Wyndham properties cost 15,000 points per night, you can now get them for only 7,500 Wells Fargo points. It is the best use of these points to date.

💳 The point of this news: Your Wells Fargo points now buy double the hotel nights than before. Take advantage of it before they realize the gift they gave us.

2️⃣ Capital One Venture Business: "New" Business Card.

This card was recently launched as a rebranding of the Capital One Spark Miles Business, and there are several reasons to consider it/ 👀

  • Welcome bonus: Up to 150,000 miles (limited time)
Phase 1: 75,000 miles after spending $7,500 in 3 months.
Phase 2: An additional 75,000 miles after spending a total of $30,000 in 6 months.

  • Annual fee: $95

  • Authorized users: $0

  • Rewards: 2x miles per dollar on all purchases.

  • Additional benefits that "pay" for the card:
$50 travel credit: Annual, to use in the Capital One Business portal.
$50 software/advertising credit: Annual, automatically applied as a statement credit.
$120 Global Entry/TSA PreCheck: Reimbursement every 4 years.

💳 The point of this news: With an annual fee of $95 a year, we get $100 in credits. If you have the cash flow to reach the spending requirement for the bonus, it is one of the best current opportunities for a high welcome bonus.

3️⃣ DoorDash Monthly Credits Are Now Harder to Maximize.

If you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve, you probably use the monthly DoorDash credits since they are practically free money. Well, DoorDash decided they no longer want you to benefit from it.

Before, you could place a pickup order at convenience stores for exactly $10, apply the credit twice a month, and walk out of the store paying $0. It was the most efficient way to get the benefit without spending anything out of pocket.

The killer change: DoorDash imposed a $20 minimum order for pickups at convenience stores.

Consequence: You can no longer spend just the $10 from the credit and pay $0. Now you are forced to spend at least $20, apply your $10, and pay the other $10 of your own money. How about that?

💳 The point of this news: Although it was DoorDash that implemented this change and not Chase, in the end, they are credit partners, and this is a negative change for the bank's customers. In the world of benefits, when something seems too easy to use, they always find a way to add a $20 minimum charge… 💀

4️⃣ American Airlines Returns to Venezuela after 7 Years!

American Airlines officially sets a date for its return to Venezuela, being the first US airline to reconnect both countries after years of absence (this makes us a bit emotional as you can imagine 🥹, Carlos has not visited Venezuela in over 16 years).

The route will initially be Miami (MIA) - Caracas (CCS) with plans to add Maracaibo later.

Something that caught our attention is that, at least for now, the flights will be operated by Envoy Air (originally American Eagle), a subsidiary of American Airlines that operates regionally; and the aircraft will be an Embraer E175.

Personally, I don't like flying on "small" planes because of flight anxiety, but I assume they are handling it this way due to potential low initial demand. We will see…

Flights start on April 30, 2026, (subject to change), and although tickets cannot be purchased yet, schedules are already published 👀

AA3599: Miami to Caracas departing at 10:16 AM

AA4194: Caracas to Miami departing at 2:40 PM

💳 The point of this news: We are very excited about this news, and it seems that the decision to renew our Venezuelan passports a few weeks ago is going to be worth it. If you have AAdvantage miles (or alliance partners), keep the app open, we might find interesting prices for this new route.

5️⃣ Just a Step Away from the Barclays to Citi Migration (American Airlines).

If you have a Barclays Aviator card, your account will migrate to Citi on April 24. While there are not too many details, the transition will be automatic and you do not need to do anything.

Starting from this date, your account will be handled by Citi, and you should receive your new (equivalent) card in the mail within the next 6 to 8 weeks. In the meantime, you can continue using your original card. You will have access to your online account with Citi starting April 27.

💳 The point of this news: This migration will not affect your credit as it is considered a product change and not a new application. At the same time, it apparently will not affect the ability to obtain new welcome bonuses with Citi, which is very positive.

🔥 BONUS: Last Call for $250 with No Annual Fee.

The $250 bonus offer after spending $500 on one of our most recommended no-annual-fee cards ends on April 30 at 9 am EST. This is an excellent time to get into this ecosystem if you aren't in it yet.

Those $250 are actually 25,000 points that can be worth much more if you transfer them to one of the bank's travel cards once they are in your account.

💳 The point of this news: If you are thinking about this card, apply before April 30 or you will lose that extra $50 bonus.
