This week's points:

  • Bilt Rent Day: Status with Accor Live Limitless

  • The Discover migration to Capital One is here

  • Chase changes access rules to its Sapphire Lounges

  • 100k points with no annual fee: the best business card offer is still on!

  • Flying Blue Promo Rewards for August

1️⃣ Bilt Rent Day: Status with Accor Live Limitless

As a Rent Day benefit, today August 1 only, you can get a status match with Accor Live Limitless when you transfer Bilt points, and your status will depend on your current status with Bilt:

  • Bilt Blue or Silver: Accor Silver when transferring at least 5,000 points.

  • Bilt Gold: Accor Gold when transferring at least 5,000 points.

  • Bilt Platinum: Accor Platinum when transferring at least 15,000 points.

Platinum status will be reflected in a maximum of five business days and will be valid until December 31, 2027. For Silver or Gold, you will receive a link by email within 48 hours; once activated, the status will last for 12 months.

Silver status includes benefits such as a welcome drink and priority check-in, while Gold includes all Silver benefits plus room upgrades, early check-in, and late check-out, among others, and Platinum includes everything from Silver and Gold, plus executive lounge access, and more.

Accor has over 7,000 hotels in more than 120 countries and its points have a fixed value of 2 euro cents each, where 1,000 points equal a €20 discount.

From Bilt you can transfer your points to Accor at a 3:2 ratio, which would give you a value of 1.53 cents per Bilt point, which is quite good for hotels in general.

Also remember that on each Rent Day, purchases with Bilt cards earn double points (excluding rent/mortgage), up to a maximum of 1,000 points generated:

  • Bilt Blue: 2 points per dollar on everything.

  • Bilt Obsidian: 6 points per dollar in the selected category between dining and groceries, 4 points per dollar on travel, and 2 points per dollar on other purchases.

  • Bilt Palladium: 4 points per dollar on everything.

2️⃣ The Discover to Capital One migration is here

If you have a Discover card, we are sure you are aware that Capital One acquired the bank about 2 years ago and a migration has been expected.

Well, this officially started on July 27, but the process will be gradual and will continue through the rest of 2026 and 2027. Not all accounts will be transferred from Discover to Capital One at the same time, and if you have multiple Discover cards, they could migrate on different dates.

Before any changes, you will receive a notification via email or physical mail with the corresponding instructions, so keep an eye out for that. 👀

The most important change you need to know about relates to how you manage your account: once the migration is complete, you will have to manage your Discover card from Capital One's website and app. You will also transition to communicating with Capital One customer service and will no longer be able to manage that card from Discover's platforms.

However, most of the original conditions remain intact:

  • Discover cashback or miles will transfer without changes, and rewards will not expire as long as the account remains open.

  • Reward multipliers and account age remain the same, so the change should not show up as a new account or affect your credit score in any way.

  • Automatic payments, scheduled payments, statements, and the activation of 5% quarterly categories should also transfer automatically. Still, confirm this, because after all, there can always be a glitch.

  • You will be able to keep using your current physical card.

One important point: Discover cashback cannot be converted, at least for now, into Capital One miles.

For the time being, you don't have to do anything until Capital One or Discover informs you that your account will be migrated.

3️⃣ Chase changes the access rules for its Sapphire Lounges

Starting August 15, Chase is going to change the access rules for its Sapphire Lounges. Here is what you need to know:

Priority Pass members who do not have access through an eligible Chase card will no longer receive one free visit per year. For example, by having a card like the Venture X which has Priority Pass access, it was possible to get one free visit per year to any of these lounges and then pay a reduced fee of $75.

With the new rules, you will no longer be able to enter once a year as before and would have to pay the general fee of $100 per visit.

The permitted time to enter during a connection is also going to change: currently, access is limited to three hours prior to flight departure, but under the new policy, those on a layover will be able to enter the lounge up to five hours before their flight. This applies solely to connecting travelers, not to those starting their journey at that airport, whose limit remains at 3 hours.

Cardholders and authorized users of the Chase Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Reserve for Business, Ritz-Carlton, and JP Morgan Reserve cards will continue to have access to the Sapphire Lounges as part of their card benefits.

Those with the Sapphire Reserve or J.P. Morgan Reserve can bring up to two guests for free per visit, while Ritz-Carlton cardholders can bring unlimited guests at no cost, making it the best option for this benefit.

4️⃣ 100k points with no annual fee: the best business card offer continues!

Yes, the 100,000-point offer for the Sapphire Preferred has ended, but the offer for the Ink Business Cash and Ink Business Unlimited is still active. 😉

Normally, high bonuses for these cards have reached $900 cashback or 90,000 points, but now it is, for the first time in history, at $1,000 cashback or 100,000 points. The best part? They have no annual fee.

But similar to other cards within this ecosystem, the rules have changed quite a bit over the last year, so we made a video with all the details so you can find out if you qualify for the bonus and for business cards as such. We share it with you below! 👇

5️⃣ August Flying Blue Promo Rewards

As is customary each month, Flying Blue published its August Promo Rewards, available to book between August 1 and August 31. Most allow travel until January 31, 2027, so there is plenty of flexibility to take advantage of these offers!

Some of the most eye-catching offers are:

  • Air France to or from Dallas, Orlando, New York, Phoenix, and Seattle starting from 18,750 miles in economy.

  • KLM to or from Houston and Miami, also starting from 18,750 miles in economy.

  • KLM to or from Las Vegas, Washington DC, Mexico City, San Diego, and San Francisco, starting from 30,000 miles in premium economy.

  • Air France to or from Bogotá, starting from 63,750 miles in business.

One of the advantages of Flying Blue is that earning miles is extremely easy. It is possible to transfer points from American Express, Bilt, Capital One, Chase, and Citi, making it possible to combine and complement points earned with different cards.

On the other hand, Flying Blue also has its own credit card in the United States issued by Bank of America: the Air France KLM Visa Signature.
