We understand "savings" as the act of setting aside a portion of current income that is not spent immediately, saving it to cover future needs, emergencies, short- or long-term goals, or for making investments. Figures in USD.
Amount of time their security fund can cover their expenses
9/25
Spending time is defined as the result of the sum of all essential expenses for one (1) full month. For example, if the sum of all monthly essential expenses is $1,000 and you have $3,500 in liquid savings, then your safety net is 3.5 months.

10/25
Liquid savings are those that can be easily and quickly converted to another asset without a significant loss of value or time. This can include cash in savings accounts, easily accessible investment accounts (excluding retirement accounts), certificates of deposit, and others. Figures in USD.

METHODOLOGY
Data Collection and Population Sample: The results presented come from a survey conducted among 1,238 people of Hispanic origin, distributed across the United States, Spanish America, and Europe. All participants are part of an active community focused on education and financial development.
Handling of Monetary Ranges: To enable mathematical analysis, responses collected in text and range formats (e.g., "$500 - $1,000") were transformed into numerical values. The exact midpoint of each range was used to calculate aggregations. In cases of open-ended responses (such as "Less than $100" or "More than $1M"), conservative standardized weightings were applied to avoid bias in the overall calculation of net worth and liquidity.
Calculation of Proportions in Multiple-Choice Options: In categories where more than one answer could be selected (such as "Investment vehicles", "Saving instruments", or "Types of debt"), percentages were calculated using the total number of respondents in that segment as the denominator, not the total number of answers given. This allows for measuring the actual penetration of each product within the community (for example, what percentage of the total population has credit cards), which is why the sum of percentages in these sections will exceed 100%.
Segmentation and Dynamic Filters: The data presented are subject to conditional filters. When the report evaluates a specific subgroup (for example, "people living alone" or "people without consumer debt"), the statistical universe is isolated. The percentages and trends for those groups are calculated strictly based on the individuals meeting that condition, ensuring the mathematical purity of each assertion.
Identification of Key Trends: To determine majority and minority behaviors, the system aggregates all identical responses from a segment and ranks them by absolute frequency. The results presented as "the most common figure" or "the largest group" mathematically represent the statistical mode of each cohort.
Visual Approximation and Rounding: Metrics illustrated in the infographics under the format "X out of every 10 people" are visual representations calculated by dividing the exact percentage by 10 and applying standard rounding to the nearest whole number. To preserve the absolute transparency of the information, the actual mathematical percentage (with up to one decimal place of precision) is always included in parentheses alongside the visual simplification.
