Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card

One of our personal favorites and that we recommend most as a premium travel card.

It earns Capital One Miles, which are considered flexible points. These can be redeemed in different ways, including booking travel through Capital One Travel, cash, gift cards, covering travel purchases made with the card, and transferring them to hotel and airline loyalty programs. Capital One partners with 14 airlines and 2 hotel chains for point transfers.

This card doesn't charge foreign transaction fees and offers a simple and competitive rewards structure: 10x miles per dollar on hotels and rental cars booked through the Capital One Travel portal, 5x miles per dollar on flights booked through Capital One Travel, and 2x miles per dollar on all other purchases, with no limit.

It offers additional benefits that can easily justify its annual fee of $395, including a $300 credit for use on travel through the Capital One Travel portal, 10,000 bonus miles each anniversary of having the card, unlimited access to Capital One lounges and over 1,300 VIP lounges through a complimentary Priority Pass membership, and a statement credit of up to $120 every four years as a reimbursement for the application fee charged by Global Entry or TSA PreCheck®.
