This card earns Membership Rewards® points that can be redeemed in several ways including gift cards, statement credits, and travel through AmexTravel.com. Possibly the best way to redeem them is for travel by transferring them to airline and hotel loyalty programs. American Express is a partner of 18 airlines and 3 hotel chains for points transfers.
This card doesn't charge foreign transaction fees and offers the following rewards structure: 4x at supermarkets in the United States (up to $25,000 spent per calendar year, then 1x), 4x at restaurants worldwide, takeout and delivery in the United States (up to $50,000 spent per calendar year), 3x on flights booked directly with airlines or American Express Travel®, and 1x on all other eligible purchases. Points do not expire.
It offers a number of additional benefits, including up to $120 in annual Uber Cash credits received monthly (up to $10 per month). This credit can be used for UberEats orders or rides with Uber in the United States.
Up to $120 in credits for restaurants, also received monthly (up to $10 per month), when paying with the card at Grubhub, The Cheesecake Factory, Goldbelly, Wine.com, and Five Guys.
You can also earn up to $100 in statement credits each calendar year when paying with your card at Resy restaurants in the United States or making other eligible Resy purchases (up to $50 in credits are received semi-annually), and up to $84 a year distributed as up to $7 a month in statement credits when paying at Dunkin’ stores within the United States.
Although it has an annual fee of $325, if you have considerable grocery and restaurant expenses and organically take advantage of the monthly credits, it is very likely to get a net benefit with this card, especially if points are redeemed for travel.

Up to $120 in Uber Cash
Add your American Express® Gold Card to your Uber account and you'll automatically get $10 in Uber Cash each month, for a total of up to $120 per year. You can use your Uber Cash for Uber Eats orders or Uber rides in the United States.
Up to $100 with Resy
Get up to $100 in statement credits each calendar year when you pay with your American Express® Gold Card for dining at Resy restaurants in the United States or make other eligible Resy purchases. Up to $50 in statement credits are received from January to June and up to $50 in statement credits from July to December (Enrollment required).
Up to $84 at Dunkin’
Get up to $7 in statement credits monthly after enrolling and paying with your American Express® Gold Card at Dunkin’ locations within the United States.
Up to $100 on Experiences
Receive a $100 credit to use on experiences during your stay when you book The Hotel Collection with American Express Travel. A minimum stay of 2 nights is required.
